Horizon 3500
The Horizon series represents Sands’ medium-to-small self-propelled sprayers. The 3500-litre model is the middle in the range, while the Horizon 3000 is the most compact and the Horizon 4000 is the largest, before going into the Infinity range.
New for 2026, the Horizon features our advanced boom leveling system, providing accuracy within 3% of Europe’s leading manufacturers. The cab is fully bespoke by Sands, ensuring exceptional comfort for long days in the field. It also includes a side or rear filling station for maximum convenience and ease of use.

Vehicle & Drivetrain
Engine
- Tier 5 Final water‑cooled Deutz 6‑cylinder diesel with AdBlue, rated at approx 140 kW (188 hp) — same basic power unit as the 3000 but tuned for the 3500 platform.
Transmission & Drive
- Fully hydrostatic 4‑wheel drive with 4‑speed transmission for strong field torque and good road speed.
- Poclain wheel motors with load‑sensing hydraulics to maintain efficiency at lower engine speeds.
Braking
- Hydrostatic primary braking with dynamic and joystick‑controlled boosted braking.

- Selectable 4‑wheel steering with auto alignment for tight headland turns (~7 m turning circle).

OVER 125 YEARS IN THE FARMING WORLD
Based in Catfield, Norfolk, our machines are known for quality, strength, performance and overall reliability. There is no hiding we are a family business that has been in the farming world for over 125 years, from farming in Norfolk to supplying crop protection products with a previous company, to day manufacturing crop sprayers and continuing to run our farm in Norfolk.
Sands Agricultural Machinery was founded in 1973 by Neal Sands, building the first sprayer for our contracting business. The ban on aerial spraying, and the need for a high clearance machine, led to farmers and contractors asking us to produce self-propelled sprayers for them.
